Famous Liberal Attorney Representing New Accuser of Roy Moore
Gloria Allred, who is known as a celebrity lawyer, will be representing a woman who is accusing former Alabama Chief Justice and current U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore of sexual assault.
Roughly 40 years ago, a 16-year-woman, Beverly Young Nelson was allegedly groped and sexually assaulted by Moore. This was when Moore was in his thirties and was a prosecutor in the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office. Moore denies all wrongdoing, in terms of the allegations being made by Nelson.

Nelson hired Allred because of Allred’s vast amount of experience in handling high-profile cases.
This is not the first time that Allred has been in the news for taking on a case involving a celebrity or a political figure. Below are a few more examples.
O.J. Simpson Trial
The O.J. Simpson trial was one of the most famous trials of the 1990s. People were tuned into the trial as if they were part of the jury or on the witness stand. Even people who were born after the trial ended are very aware of it. Most people know about O.J. Simpson and his lawyers Johnnie Cochran and Robert Kardashian, as well as the victim Nicole Simpson. Allred was also involved in the trial, representing Nicole Simpson’s family.
That case is long over today, but Allred continues to speak her mind about it. In October 2017, O.J. Simpson was released from a Nevada prison, after spending the minimum nine years of a 33-year sentence for an unrelated crime.

Allred stated her opinion that guilty individuals such as O.J. Simpson should not be granted parole, and that he should have had to serve a longer term. She believes there should be tougher laws put in place regarding such matters, so she worked with a Nevada legislator to draft a bill that would make the Nevada Parole Board consider a parole applicant’s history of domestic violence when deciding whether the inmate should be granted parole.
Scott Peterson Trial
Scott Peterson was convicted of first degree murder of his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson. He was also convicted of second degree murder of their unborn son.
Gloria Allred was not involved in the actual trial, but she represented Amber Frey, who was involved in an extra-marital affair with Scott Peterson.
The trial made national and worldwide news, and Frey was being approached by media outlets to state her thoughts about the trial and about the facts of what happened. Frey hired Allred for guidance on how to approach the trial, the media, and daily life.
Allred did not state her opinion on whether she though Scott Peterson was guilty. She did, however, express her sympathy for the victim, Laci Peterson.
Tiger Woods Scandal
Tiger Woods, at one point of his golf career, was known as the number-one-ranked professional golfer in the world. On the business side of sports, Woods had endorsement deals with some of the largest companies in the world. All of that was gone though, after news broke that Woods was involved with marital infidelities.
The media coverage all began back in 2009, when Rachel Uchitel, a New York City nightclub manager, told her story about her relationship with Woods to the National Enquirer. Two days later, Woods famously crashed his Cadillac SUV into a tree. After this, several other females came forward to say that they had similar encounters with Woods.

Uchitel became the most famous individual from the group of ladies who said they had a sexual affair with Woods while he was married.
Allred was representing Uchitel in the case that could have gone to trial. The reason why there was no trial was that Uchitel received a settlement worth millions of dollars from the Woods camp, just hours before Uchitel was going to speak at a press conference. As part of the settlement, Uchitel agreed to keep all information about the situation with Woods confidential.
Anthony Weiner Affair
Anthony Weiner was once a congressman but is now more known for his personal scandals. Weiner was caught sending messages and photos through online services to women while he was married and a member of Congress.
When the news first broke about Weiner’s activities, the public was very surprised. As more women came forward, the story caught the eye of the House Ethics Committee. The committee was to determine whether Weiner should remain as a congressman after his actions were revealed.
One individual who Weiner contacted was Ginger Lee, who was a porn star at the time. Lee said that Weiner told her to lie in front of the ethics committee so he would be able to hold on to his congressman position. Lee did not go through with speaking in front of the ethics committee; she held a press conference instead. All of this was due to the help of Allred, who was representing Lee at the time.

Melanie Brown vs. Eddie Murphy
At one time, Melanie Brown, also known as Scary Spice of the musical group Spice Girls, was in a relationship with actor Eddie Murphy. As their relationship grew, Brown got pregnant and had a baby. Murphy did not want anything to do with the child, however, and he claimed that it was not his baby.
This is where Gloria Allred came in; Brown hired Allred to represent her in her disagreement with Murphy. Brown sued Murphy, claiming that he was the father of her child. In the end, a paternity test proved that Murphy was, indeed, the father. He paid Brown millions of dollars in a settlement, in order to not be involved in the upbringing of their child.
